[Communications] - COMIT conducted a training conference for customer about Keysight’s Nemo test solutions

June 14, 2019

June 22th 2017, Myanmar, COMIT Corporation organized a training session for PTD (Post and Telecommunication Department) – under MCT (Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Myanmar) about theories of Drive Test; introduce Nemo - Keysight measurement solutions as well as guide them through using Nemo Invex II system for Benchmarking solution.

Drive test is a method of measuring and assessing the coverage, capacity and Quality of Service (QoS) of a mobile radio network. The technique consists of using a laptop, motor vehicle containing mobile radio network air interface measurement equipment that can detect and record a wide variety of the physical and virtual parameters of mobile cellular service in a given geographical area.

Benchmarking in mobile telecommunication has been defined as the comparison of one mobile operator’s performance with others. The technique is the same as the drive test principle but the measurement equipment for each operator must be at the same time and in the same condition to ensure fairness.

On June 22th, 2017, COMIT trained PTD about Keysight’s Nemo measurement methods, especially Nemo Invex II.

The Nemo Invex II system has been provided to PTD by COMIT since 2015 and has been used effectively by PTD in the benchmarking of mobile operators in Myanmar. The system's hardware is equipped with up to 45 User Equipment including Phone and USB Data Card and a Scanner.

In order to meet the new requirements, COMIT has organized in-depth training courses for PTD with the following contents:

  • The principles and methodologies of the Drive Test
  • Support system updates
  • System troubleshooting guide
  • Advanced analytics training and measurement report generating

To ensure the quality of the training session, COMIT has sent experienced engineers to instruct PTD directors, managers and specialists.

More specifically, the COMIT engineers have combined the theory training with the implementation of products demonstration so that customers could see the superior benefits of the Nemo Invex II system. The entire system has been updated by COMIT engineers to support new versions, making the system more stable and supporting new measuring features.

In addition to the traditional testing needs such as voice quality measurement, SMS measurement, data measurement such as FTP, HTTP Download, Upload ... COMIT engineers have introduced and guided the PTD to the new measurement features of the Nemo Invex system with a wide range of application testing capabilities, enabling to compare how actual services like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Dropbox, and Instagram work from an end-user perspective.
