The conference was organized by the Vietnam Electronic Industries Association (VEIA) and the Organizing Committee of Singapore ITAP 2023 on May 10.

Participating in the conference, COMIT and Vietnam electronics enterprises together make connection, and update new trends in the market, identify opportunities in the global electronics industry. Specifically, according to the representative of VEIA, from the beginning of 2023 up to now, many large firms and enterprises in the supply chain of the electronics industry have moved from foreign markets to Vietnam, looked for makers and deployed supply chain. Typically, there is information that Apple Inc. is conducting production of more advanced product lines such as Ipad, Imac ..., leading to an increase in the number of electronic component manufacturers.

Secondly, Vietnam also can increase exports to fastidious markets and some new markets due to the adjustment of the supply chain. Mrs. Huong said that recently, VEIA has received many business delegations from European countries, Eastern Europe (former), Russia... to invite investment promotion and product export to these markets.

Thirdly, the trend of shifting investment and production is creating opportunities for Vietnam to attract large and quality FDI investments in the electronics industry, especially in the field of chipset manufacturing. For example, chip maker Amkor has increased its investment in the Vietnam market. In addition, a number of chipset manufacturing enterprises in the supply chain are also considering to research and finding factory locations...

Fourthly, countries are promoting bilateral and multilateral economic links with Vietnam as well as ratifying the new-generation free trade agreements CPTPP and EVFTA... taking place urgently, creating more favorable conditions for trade and investment in high-tech industries, especially electronics.

Sharing at the workshop, Mr. Darren Seah, Portfolio Director in charge of Industry Transformation Exhibition Asia - Pacific (ITAP) said that Vietnam has attracted many large electronics corporations in the world, such as Samsung, LG, Intel, Canon... This proves that Vietnam has completely positioned itself as an electronics production center not only of Southeast Asia but of Asia as well, besides also forming the network of industry supporting enterprises in the electronics industry to participate more and more deeply in the global supply chain. The government always timely develops supporting policies for businesses. However, he said that the most important thing for Vietnamese businesses is to control product quality, strengthen connections and support from partners to improve product competitiveness.
