In July, COMIT Corporation was invited by ZTE Vietnam to participate in a seminar on ZTE's WNG automated testing tool. During the workshop, ZTE listened to comments and assessments from COMIT about this solution and discussed how to apply the solutions to their projects in the future.
WNG (Wireless Network Guardian) is an automated solution for drive test and analysis for network operation and maintenance. Existing test equipment such as terminal (UE), GPS, laptop will be replaced by smartphone installed with ZTE's WNG application and controlled remotely. This solution is applied to test most network quality assessment tests. The system includes 03 main modules:
- VNG (Terminal UE): Receives test tasks from the server, collects test data and sends test data to the server.
- VNS (WNG Server): Configure end-to-end tasks such as test scheduling, test status management
- VNG Web (Analysis Client): provides user interface, management of configuration parameters, data processing, network analysis...
Conducting traditional drive test requires many experts with many expensive technical tools and the data obtained requires a large amount of manpower to handle reporting and analysis. The whole testing process requires highly skilled professionals, high cost test equipment and long test time. In order to make drive test be more efficient and accurate, while reducing OPEX and human resources, ZTE has proposed an automatic drive test solution WNG (Wireless Network Guardian), the tasks of controlling drive test configuration are centralized remotely performed, therefore greatly improving drive test efficiency. In addition, according to ZTE, this new solution can improve the efficiency of up to 33% of the SSV reporting process and 16% for Cluster compared to the traditional method. ZTE hopes to help future projects speed up the testing, reporting and analysis process in future projects in Vietnam.
