[Communications] - COMIT and VIAVI Jointly Organized the Seminar "Ensuring Your 5G Network Quality"

Recently, COMIT Corporation and VIAVI Solutions, the world's leading provider of telecommunications testing solutions from the US, jointly organized a seminar titled "Ensuring Your 5G Network Quality" for leading telecommunications network operators and service providers in Vietnam.

Aimed at providing an overview of 5G and beyond, as well as knowledge of common problems during 5G deployment and how to address them, the seminar attracted many telecommunications engineers from leading operators such as Viettel, VNPT, Mobifone, GTEL, CMC, and FPT. These technical experts are involved in network design planning, operational implementation, and optimization, researching trends, and pioneering 5G technology.

According to statistics from Qualcomm, Inc., fifth generation (5G) mobile networks are being commercially deployed worldwide. By 2035, 5G is expected to deliver USD 13.1 trillion in global revenue. 5G expands coverage and capacity, bringing a host of new devices and services. As of January 2024, 585 network operators in 176 countries and territories were investing in 5G deployment, with 297 having commercialized 5G networks. 5G will pioneer applications in fields such as healthcare, transportation, and agriculture, promoting digital transformation across all industries. Based on practical experience from consulting, coordinating deployment, and synthesizing results from many carriers worldwide, VIAVI experts have identified several challenges that Vietnam operators and service providers need to address to successfully deploy 5G and deliver the best quality experience to customers:

-          Fiber everywhere, fat pipes for transport, leading to massive fiber deployment requires trained resources

-          Flexible and Efficient Fronthaul, leading to new functional splits with stringent SLAs for fronthaul, complex testing

-          New 5G mmWave Spectrum (GHz) and massive MIMO, leading to signal quality issues (path loss, flatness, phase noise, & linearity)

-          App Specific Network Slicing and High Velocity Service Activation, leading to scale of service activation

Facing these challenges, engineers from operators, service providers, and VIAVI experts have come together to learn, discuss, and find solutions to improve 5G network quality. This will enhance the customer experience, boost revenue for operators and service providers, and demonstrate practical solutions to help control the quality of radio, transmission, and IP subsystems.

COMIT and VIAVI experts hope that the seminar provided practical experiences and solutions using the latest technologies in 5G testing from VIAVI, such as ONA800-Wireless, ONA800-Sync & Transport 1/10/100/400G, and MTS4000 for fiber and OTDR testing. In the future, COMIT and VIAVI plan to continue organizing in-depth seminars to provide further knowledge and support operators and service providers in perfecting communications.
